Effective collaboration with team members, clear client communication, and staying current with industry trends are essential.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Website Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites, ensuring they are user-friendly, responsive, and meet client specifications.
PHP Coding: Write efficient, secure, and well-documented PHP code for website functionality and backend processes.
Theme and Plugin Customization: Customize and extend WordPress themes and plugins to meet client requirements and ensure compatibility with core updates.
Content Management: Manage and optimize content within WordPress, including adding, editing, and formatting text, images, and multimedia elements.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks to maintain website functionality and performance.
Security: Implement security best practices to protect websites from vulnerabilities, malware, and hacking threats.
Performance Optimization: Optimize website performance, including page load times, by fine-tuning code, images, and server configurations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Version Control: Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage code repositories, track changes, and facilitate teamwork.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for code, configurations, and project specifications.
Client Communication: Engage in clear and professional communication with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and address feedback promptly.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in software and web application development preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Programming Languages
HTML/CSS: For structuring and styling web content.
WordPress Specific:
In-depth knowledge of WordPress, including its core functions, themes, and plugins.
Expertise in creating custom WordPress themes and child themes.
Ability to develop custom WordPress plugins or modify existing ones.
Database Management:
Proficiency in MySQL for database design, optimization, and interaction with PHP.
Version Control:
Familiarity with Git for version control and team collaboration.
Development Tools:
Proficiency in your choice of IDE, including VSCode, PhpStorm, Webstorm
Tools like XAAMP, Local, and others for developing WordPress sites locally.
Responsive Design:
Understanding of responsive design principles to ensure websites function well on various devices.
Website Accessibility:
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices to ensure websites are usable by all individuals, including those with disabilities.
Security:
Knowledge of best practices for securing WordPress installations.
Performance Optimization:
Familiarity with tools and techniques to optimize website performance.
API Integration:
Ability to integrate and work with RESTful APIs.
Debugging and Testing:

Understanding of content management within WordPress, including post types, taxonomies, and custom fields.
