Position Summary
The Communications & Employer Brand Specialist develops and executes internal and external communications that support employee engagement, organizational alignment, recruiting initiatives, and employer branding. This role partners with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition & Development, business leaders, and other stakeholders to deliver clear, consistent, and engaging communications across multiple channels, exercising independent judgment in selecting the methods, content, and channels that best support organizational objectives.
The role is weighted approximately 60% internal communications, 30% recruiting and employer brand communications, and 10% administrative communications support.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
Partner with Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition & Development, and business leaders to identify communication needs and develop effective messaging solutions
Develop, write, edit, and distribute communications across multiple channels — email, intranet, digital signage, newsletters, leadership messages, and organizational announcements — consistent with brand standards, voice, and messaging guidelines
Create, publish, and maintain content on the company intranet and other internal communication platforms, recommending enhancements that improve accessibility and engagement
Coordinate content development, publication schedules, and distribution of employee newsletters and communication campaigns, including conducting employee and leadership interviews to develop stories and features
Coordinate messaging across business units and locations to ensure consistency and organizational alignment
Support communications for employee recognition programs, events, community involvement, and company initiatives, including new hire and milestone announcements
Support public relations initiatives, company announcements, and external communications as needed
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to develop and promote content highlighting career opportunities, hiring events, internship programs, and company culture across recruiting and social media channels
Support Talent Acquisition's partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, workforce development organizations, and community organizations by developing marketing materials and executing employer branding initiatives
Execute established social media and employer branding strategies — creating, scheduling, publishing, and managing content across all company social media channels
Own the preparation, procurement, distribution, and inventory of recruitment marketing materials, career fair displays, branded merchandise, and event kits across all locations
Track, analyze, and report on social media and recruiting campaign performance; research industry trends and best practices in communications, employer branding, and recruitment marketing
Administrative & Communications Support
Maintain communication calendars, distribution lists, templates, brand assets, and content libraries
Support communication approval workflows, recordkeeping, and content archiving
Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong editing, proofreading, and attention-to-detail abilities
Ability to develop compelling content tailored to diverse audiences
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Sound judgment in recommending communication strategies and messaging
Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
Creative thinking and storytelling capabilities
Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret engagement and communication metrics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, content management systems, and digital/social media platforms
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
Qualifications
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, Human Resources, or a related field
Experience Required:
0–3 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, social media, employer branding, recruiting marketing, or a related field
Experience Preferred
Experience creating content for internal communications, websites, newsletters, or social media platforms
Experience with content management systems, digital communication tools, social media analytics/scheduling tools, or design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Experience coordinating events, promotional campaigns, or brand-related initiatives
Photography, videography, or basic video editing experience
Experience supporting recruitment marketing, employer branding, talent attraction, or community engagement initiatives
