Community Resources Coordinator

Job Description:

We are seeking a Community Involvement Coordinator for a non-profit in Spartanburg that makes a direct and positive impact on the unhoused community as individuals transition into permanent housing (the highlight of every week!). This position does require a lot of face-to-face work in the community with unhoused members of the population but strongly values work-life balance outside of normal business hours. Come impact your community!\n \n DUTIES\n\n Work closely in the field with the unhoused community in Spartanburg\n Serve as an assistant to the unhoused population, scheduling doctors' appts, coordinating transportation, and more\n Distribute mail to homeless who use their PO Box\n Occasionally drive clients to appointments\n Working closely with partners (VA, Access Health, Housing partners, mental health partners) to coordinate various resources\n Handle a typical case load of 25-30 clients with regular touchpoints (up to 50 \"on paper\")\n Work with a police escort assigned to the non-profit only if there are safety concerns due to mental illness or substance abuse (if needed)\n Once a week on Tuesdays OR Thursdays, serve dinner from 4-6:30 p.m. (come in late the following day)\n Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (except once a week on Tuesdays OR Thursdays to serve dinner from 4-6:30pm.)\n\n \n QUALIFICATIONS\n\n Must have a heart for community with confident communication and leadership skills (not in terms of managing people but in terms of working with them)\n Must be comfortable working directly with the unhoused population in the community\n Must have some work experience in a relevant field, including non-profit, community outreach, case management, social work, etc.)\n Must be good at problem solving\n Valid license and able to pass drivers check and operate a vehicle\n Background check and drug screen\n\n \n PAY/BENEFITS\n\n $45k-$47k/year\n State benefits - health, dental and vision (plus access to fee clinic for city and county employees and their families)\n 18 PTO days\n All county and federal paid holidays\n State retirement, plus optional 401k, PEBA\n Additional perks: Great work-life balance (turn off your cell phone at 5 p.m. and leave your laptop at work!)\n\n
