Luma Peak Studio builds polished interactive experiences with a strong focus on character appeal, responsive gameplay, and high production standards. Our animation team works closely with art, design, and engineering to bring motion, timing, and personality into every player-facing interaction.
We’re seeking a contract Gameplay Animator with solid fundamentals in character movement and in‑engine implementation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on asset creation, rapid iteration, and close collaboration within a production team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create animation content that meets established visual direction and gameplay needs
Produce assigned motion work for characters, props, and other in‑game assets
Support both 3D and, where needed, 2D asset animation tasks
Work within studio pipelines and maintain quality across assigned deliverables
Implement animation work into engine and support gameplay feature integration
Review and test assets in development builds to ensure polish and reliability
Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to solve production challenges
Respond quickly to feedback and revision cycles
Help maintain consistency, quality, and timely delivery across the project
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional grounding in animation principles, especially character performance and gameplay responsiveness
Experience with game development pipelines and real‑time engines such as Unreal, Unity, or proprietary tools
Proficiency with tools such as Maya, Blender, Photoshop, ZBrush, or Substance Painter
Demonstrated 3D art or animation production skills through portfolio or reel
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to absorb feedback and iterate efficiently
Understanding of gameplay implementation and production constraints
Degree in animation, art, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience on shipped games or interactive entertainment products
Familiarity with both animation creation and in‑engine setup
Exposure to stylized character work
Ability to contribute across adjacent art tasks when needed
