POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Public Relations and Communications Director, you will be responsible for representing, coordinating and managing public relations and communications activities, in conjunction with the Public Relations and Communications (PR/Comms) team. Together, you will facilitate communication of the organization's message to internal and external audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and mentor a communications team, overseeing content development, project coordination and day-to-day creative initiatives

Develop compelling human-interest stories, executive messaging, videos, blogs, newsletters and social media content that strengthen brand awareness and engagement

Lead content production initiatives including photography, video storytelling, event coverage and multimedia campaigns across multiple senior living communities.

Support organizational public relations efforts by highlighting resident experiences, teammate recognition, healthcare innovation and mission-driven initiatives

Collaborate with leadership, residents, patients and teammates to create authentic stories that inspire connection and trust

Contribute to a positive organizational culture through uplifting storytelling and strategic internal communications

Direct and support all social media presence on behalf of Forefront Living and each of its entities

Work with designated marketing agencies to proactively generate strategies to advance Forefront Living’s brand in industry trade publications, digital media and other forms of advertising

Direct the creation of Forefront Living’s newsletters, news stories and video content, including formal press release distribution, media alerts, article/blog post development, podcasts, social media, etc.

Oversee, review and approve communication for internal audiences

Provide direction to the PR/Comms team and personally contribute to creating informative stories that showcase Forefront Living and its entities

Oversee the production of multimedia content that is relevant to our organization’s core issues areas and will resonate with a diverse audience

Oversee and support media relations on behalf of Forefront Living, assisting PR Liaison in coordination of media engagement as well as participate directly, when appropriate, to maintain brand consistency and appropriate dissemination of approved media coverage to internal audiences.

Review, edit and approve press releases and media advisories

Coordinate (assignments, presenter, etc.) and write Moments that Matter each week, communicating to applicable individuals

Gather and report on data related to outreach efforts and user response rates to support communications strategy

Oversee the creation of branded materials

Direct and actively participate in corporate messaging development and distribution

Review and edit documents and organization’s materials so they are current, accurate and properly reflect the brand and desired messaging

Maintain the organization’s intranet

Provide editing services to marketing teams, executive directors and others needing assistance with outward-facing communications; oversee others in the PR/Comms department’s participation as well

Review deliverables prior to publication or distribution to make certain they are in alignment with company standards for formatting, aesthetics and content

Continually evaluate the public relations strategy

Oversee/manage PR/Comms teammate(s) as assigned

Oversee/manage work-study students

Oversee/manage PR/Comms projects as assigned

Be accessible if a business need should arise outside of normal business hours

Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO or Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in communication, Public Relations or Journalism required

Prior experience in senior living/healthcare preferred

Minimum of ten years’ experience working in communications, public relations or journalism

Advanced design knowledge/experience with working knowledge of design and implementation software necessary for the job function (Hootsuite, Microsoft Office Suite, PDF, WordPress, MailChimp, Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Adobe InDesign platform, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zoom, Canva, Dropbox, SharePoint, etc.)
