Job Summary
Working under the direction of University Communications, thisrole produces high-quality digital photo and video content toachieve marketing and communications objectives targeted at avariety of audiences and delivered across multiple platforms. TheMultimedia Producer I is also responsible for the management andcoordination of all photography projects within the department,oversees student workers, and advises colleagues across campus onphotography best practices.
Responsibilities also include oversight of all photographyequipment, managing the University's photo archives with SpecialCollections, and managing a library of digital photo assets (DAM -currently Canto) for use by the Marketing, Communications, andEnrollment Management teams, along with other duties asassigned.
This position serves as the University's primary photographer butalso produces high-quality video assets and collaborates with theMultimedia Team on larger projects.
Responsibilities
Multimedia Production - 60%
Provide creative direction and high-quality photography/videographyfor campus clients (including staged shoots and special eventcoverage).
Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams to provideartwork for news stories, ad campaigns, web promotions, andmore.
Challenge the status quo by regularly experimenting with innovativeshooting techniques and tactics (e.g., action shots, creativeframing/angles, photo essay collections, etc.).
Planning/Scheduling - 20%
Manage all incoming photography requests, prioritizing projectsaccording to external news/promotional value. This includesensuring proper staffing, equipment, and resources are on hand forevery shoot.
Coordinate with colleagues on the editorial team to explore ways oftelling stories visually.
Provide regular updates on project statuses (through the Mondayproject management system), set clear deadlines, and deliver assetson time.
Digital Asset & Archive Management - 15%
Maintain the University's photo gallery (DAM - Canto) and develop asystem for categorizing newly added photos.
Work with Special Collections to archive photography resources forfuture use.
Collaborate with supervisor to organize student worker assignmentsand schedule.
Provide guidance, assistance, and best practice tips to colleaguesin outside departments who are creating their own photographyassets for various web/social media pages.
Other - 5%
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Digital Media/Imaging, Photography, TechnicalCommunication, or a related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Must be able to handle projects independently as well ascollaborate seamlessly across the team and campus.
Required Experience
At least 2-5 years of prior experience creating visual assets andusing editing software.
Proposed Salary
This position is a pay grade 8. The available salary range is$47,476.00 to $50,000.00. Starting salary within this range isbased on relevant years of experience.

ABILITIES
Ability to handle projects independently, meet deadlines, andcollaborate seamlessly across the team and campus.
Ability to work well with other departments and contributors toestablish and categorize a database of photographs.
Ability to lead and train student workers.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of photography, videography, lighting, lenses, and allaspects of camera usage for multiple projects.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (photo and videoediting).
Knowledge of the rules of composition and color relationships, aswell as a working knowledge of studio and remote lighting.
SKILLS
Strong time management and organizational skills, includinginventory.
Management of photography and videography equipment.
Strong organizational and cataloging skills.
