An international financial services company is seeking a Regional Account Manager to develop new business and expand its commercial finance portfolio.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated, results-driven sales professional with a strong hunter mentality who enjoys identifying new opportunities, developing relationships, and building a book of business.
The successful candidate should have experience in equipment finance, vendor finance, equipment leasing, commercial finance, or a related area of financial services, along with a solid understanding of financing products and transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, and industry relationships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners.
- Manage the sales process from initial prospecting and needs assessment through transaction closing and funding.
- Develop and maintain an active pipeline and work toward annual new business production goals of approximately $8M–$12M+.
- Understand customers' business and financing needs and recommend appropriate financing solutions.
- Work closely with Credit and other internal teams to evaluate, structure, price, and close transactions.
- Develop quarterly sales plans and provide regular pipeline and activity updates to management.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, pricing, and financing structures.
- Participate in customer meetings, networking opportunities, industry events, and conferences.
- Travel within the assigned market as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience in equipment finance, vendor finance, equipment leasing, commercial finance, or a related financial services field.
- Demonstrated experience in new business development, prospecting, and relationship building.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to prospect for new business, develop relationships, and build a book of business.
- Solid knowledge of financing products and transactions, including credit evaluation, pricing, documentation, negotiation, and transaction structuring.
- Strong consultative selling, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple opportunities, and drive transactions through closing.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience such as Salesforce is preferred.
- Ability to travel approximately 20–30%.
Work Arrangement: This position offers flexible hybrid/remote work arrangements. Candidates within commuting distance of the Northern New Jersey office are encouraged to work on a hybrid basis. Candidates located within reasonable travel distance may also be considered, with periodic visits to the office as needed.
