Children's Book Editor

Seeking a passionate Children's Book Editor, the hybrid position will focus on acquiring and developing picture books and young formats for ages 0-7, while collaborating with a creative team to establish new series and enhance existing brands.
Key responsibilities

Edit approximately 10-15 new books per year, identifying creative avenues for acquisition
Oversee all editorial aspects, including manuscript generation, liaising with art directors, and copywriting
Generate book ideas through market analysis and maintain publishing schedules while collaborating with multiple teams

Required qualifications

4+ years of editorial experience in children's books with a successful track record in picture book acquisition
Excellent writing and copywriting skills
Creative thinking ability to expand children's book characters and worlds
Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with authors, illustrators, and colleagues
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in virtual environments
