Your role at Vantive

The Sr Mgr, Marketing Comms works with US Downstream Marketing directors to drive strategy, planning, and execution for U.S. commercial conventions, partnering across brand marketing, agencies, and enterprise functions to deliver differentiated, insight-driven customer experiences. Reporting to the US Senior Director of Marketing, this role oversees end-to-end convention management—including booth strategy, sponsorships, digital engagement, and vendor governance—while ensuring alignment to brand objectives, compliance standards, and ROI targets. This role oversees both the US Acute and Chronic businesses.

This role requires a highly collaborative, organized, driven, and strong project manager who can operate independently in a matrixed environment, manage large-scale initiatives, and continuously optimize performance through data, innovation, and operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing

1. Strategy & Experience Design

Translate brand strategy into high-impact convention tactics that drive awareness, engagement, and lead generation

Design differentiated, insight-driven customer experiences using analytics, post-show reporting, and booth metrics to optimize ROI

Identify and implement innovative technologies (e.g., digital tools, immersive experiences) to enhance in-person and virtual engagement

Serve as subject matter expert on Digital Lab capabilities (badge scanning, dashboards, email tools), enabling omnichannel integration across events

Partner with leadership to shape vendor strategy, sourcing models, and cost optimization opportunities

2. Convention Execution & Program Management

Lead end-to-end execution of national and regional conventions, including:

Booth design, maps, and asset management

Sponsorship planning and association coordination

Pre-con ownership and planning (i.e., stakeholder coordination, managing logistics, communication to internal Vantive attendees, working with business partners to create and communicate external-facing talking points) and onsite execution

Printed and digital marketing assets

Compliance and regulatory adherence

Act as primary point of contact for associations and key vendors

Oversee National Sales Meeting and Home/Acute Summit planning and execution

Work with US Commercial leaders (sales, marketing, sales training) months in advance to design agenda and coordinate attendees and logistics

Manage regional event logistics, including portable inventory systems and coordination with field sales and strategic accounts

Ensure accurate financial management, including budgets, POs, invoicing, and TOV reporting for compliance

3. Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with Marketing, Finance, Medical, Regulatory, CX, and Corporate Communications to align objectives and execution

Consult with brand teams to align convention strategy with broader marketing goals

Influence without authority in a matrixed organization to deliver results on time and within budget

Be responsive to Commercial business partners

Foster continuous communication with agencies and vendors through regular status updates and performance reviews

4. Vendor & Financial Management

Lead vendor selection, contracting, and performance management in collaboration with Procurement

Identify efficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards

Monitor budgets proactively and ensure financial discipline across all events

5. Analytics & Continuous Improvement

Evolve, track, analyze, summarize and communicate performance metrics (engagement, leads, ROI) across conventions

Apply insights to improve future strategies and execution

Champion innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement across the convention portfolio

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

5+ years of experience in marketing operations, conventions, or event strategy (healthcare/pharma or highly regulated industry preferred)

Demonstrated experience developing convention strategy aligned to brand growth objectives

Strong vendor management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., PhRMA, Sunshine Act, CFR) preferred

Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with high attention to detail

Strong project and program management capabilities

Business acumen with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights

Ability to lead independently and thrive in fast‑paced, matrixed environments

Skilled at influencing stakeholders without direct authority

Adaptable, proactive, and solutions‑oriented

Proficient in Microsoft 365 and emerging event/digital tools (e.g., project management platforms – Monday.com, Salesforce, Engage)

Additional Requirements

Travel: ~20–25% domestic, including weekends and extended convention hours

Ability to work extended and irregular hours during peak convention periods

Willingness to work onsite for long durations during events

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 to $187,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
