Job TitleCommunications DirectorJob DescriptionThe Sage Group's client, a leading Enterprise SaaS company is searching for a contract Communications Director with executive/internal comms experience at a scaled tech or SaaS company. Responsibilities include:Comms strategy & executive advisory: Develop communications strategies and plans for assigned workstreams, and advise executives on messaging decisions, including recommending approach, framing, timing, and channel for their content.Executive comms production support: Draft and format cascades, talking points, blogs, FAQs, and LinkedIn/social content from direction provided; manage version control and stakeholder review cycles.Org-level comms execution: Coordinate and draft business-as-usual communications for People and Finance teams against an agreed calendar.Org-level town hall support: Build run-of-show, briefing pages, content collection across sub-teams, and post-event recaps.Comms systems & templates: Maintain and extend the team's playbooks, comms plans templates, briefing formats, and self-serve guides so recurring work stays low-friction.Sentiment & engagement reporting: Pull and package reaction, view, and sentiment data for key comms moments into consistent readouts for leaders.Editorial coordination & project management: Track intake, deadlines, and dependencies across active workstreams; keep pages, calendars, and trackers current.Meeting and content prep: Prepare agendas, pre-reads, and summaries for recurring executive and team meetings.Ad-hoc content drafting: Turn around first-draft Slack messages, emails, and briefing notes for time-sensitive requests, ready for senior review.Technical/Craft Skills:Build and run global communications programs supporting C-level executivesA natural writer and ghostwriter with an ear for tone; comfortable giving counsel and pushing back with the most senior leadersDeep experience with sensitive, high-stakes communications, and a track record building reusable comms systems (e.g., timelines, run sheets, toolkits)Soft Skills:Self-starter who can operate independently, with proven executive-communications partnership at the C-levelAdaptable in approach and high emotional intelligence, matched with the ability to get stuff done in innovative waysCalm, high-judgment, and discreet under pressure; fluent in tech, and energized by scaling culture in a distributed companyTop 3 Sourcing Wish List:Executive/internal comms experience at a scaled tech or SaaS company (e.g., Salesforce, Datadog, HubSpot, GitLab, Dropbox, Twilio, or similar 5,000+ employee SaaS orgs)Comfortable owning workstreams end-to-end with minimal oversight, calibrated on when to move ahead versus check in, and reliable with sensitive informationTrusted partner to senior leadersLength: through the end of May 2027Location: Remote in the USRate: $100/hour – $110/hour
