This position plays a critical role in identifying timely stories, producing high-quality segments, and collaborating with talent and production teams to deliver engaging content to viewers across multiple platforms. Remote work environment in a Scripps Sports approved property state.## WHAT YOU'LL DO:* Pitch, develop, and write content related to the latest national, international, and sports news stories.* Produce compelling segments that support daily shows and special programming.* Deliver quick-turn, high-priority packages while maintaining exceptional production quality and editorial standards.* Write scripts and collaborate with Senior Producers to refine segment elements and ensure they meet quality and timing requirements.* Work closely with talent, editors, producers, and production teams to coordinate graphics, video, sound, and other production elements needed for live segments.* Organize and oversee all creative components required to successfully execute assigned segments.* Create banners and supporting graphic elements as needed.* Identify and pitch engaging story ideas, guests, and interview opportunities.* Monitor news, sports, and social media trends to identify relevant content opportunities.* Perform other duties as assigned.## WHAT YOU'LL NEED:* Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Broadcast Production, or a related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience.* 3+ years of experience in television news, sports programming, or live broadcast production as a Line Producer, Segment Producer, or similar role.* Experience pitching, developing, and producing live reporter packages and guest segments.* Proven experience writing and producing content for live television.* Strong understanding of broadcast production workflows and newsroom operations.* Experience working under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment.* Regular use of computers, broadcast systems, production tools, and video conferencing technology.* Schedule flexibility may be required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special event coverage based on production needs.## WHAT YOU'LL BRING:* Strong writing, storytelling, and editorial judgment skills.* Ability to cultivate and pitch story ideas and secure compelling guests.* Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate all creative elements supporting live segments.* Strong visual storytelling instincts and experience identifying impactful video and graphic elements.* Solid social media experience and understanding of digital audience engagement.* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.* Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively work with diverse teams and communities.* Proven time-management, organization, and multitasking abilities.* Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting daily deadlines.#LI-SM2#LI-Remote# # **If you are a current Scripps employee, please do not apply on this site.
