Product Motion Designer
We're looking for a Product Motion Designer to help make our consumer mobile app feel alive, intuitive, and magical. This role is about enhancing product experience, not marketing fluff.
You'll work closely with our product designers and engineers to design motion that:
Guides users
Reinforces learning
Adds delight without distraction
Makes the app feel premium and intentional
If you've worked on education, gaming, or high-engagement consumer apps, and love turning static UI into something expressive and human, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Design micro-interactions and UI animations that improve usability and engagement
Bring learning flows to life with purposeful motion (feedback, progress, encouragement)
Collaborate with product designers to translate Figma flows into motion systems
Work closely with engineers to ensure animations are implementation-ready
Build and maintain reusable motion components and guidelines
Prototype animations quickly to explore and test ideas
Contribute to the long-term motion language of the product
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
4+ years of experience in product motion design for consumer mobile apps
Strong understanding of motion principles (timing, easing, hierarchy, feedback)
Experience designing for iOS and Android
Hands-on experience with Rive (state machines, interactive animations)
Deep familiarity with Figma (motion-ready workflows)
Ability to design motion that supports learning and cognition, not just aesthetics
Nice-to-Have
Background in education, language learning, or gaming apps
Experience working with engineers on real-time or interactive animations
Understanding of performance constraints in mobile apps
Experience designing animated characters, avatars, or tutors
Familiarity with haptics, sound cues, and multi-sensory feedback
What Success Looks Like
The app feels more intuitive, responsive, and emotionally engaging
Motion reduces friction and increases clarity—not distraction
Animations feel cohesive, consistent, and intentional across the product
Engineers can implement your work cleanly with minimal back-and-forth
Users describe the app as feeling "alive," "smooth," or "premium"
Portfolio Requirements
Please include examples that show:
Product UI animations (not just marketing videos)
Interactive or state-based animations
Any work built in Rive
Mobile app experience (live apps are a huge plus)
Bonus Points
You think in systems, not one-off animations
You care about why motion exists, not just how it looks
You've shipped features used by millions (or obsessed over polish like you had)
