Technical WriterAt McElroy, our products help build critical infrastructure around the world. We're looking for a skilled Technical Writer who can transform complex engineering and manufacturing information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that helps our teams build, inspect, and support world-class equipment. In this role, you'll partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Customer Service teams to create the documents, procedures, and tools that keep our operations running smoothly. From assembly instructions and inspection procedures to safety documentation and digital document systems, your work will directly support the production of our fusion and fintube products. If you're someone who enjoys organizing information, solving problems, collaborating with technical experts, and improving processes, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoCreate and maintain critical technical documentation including:ManualsProcedures and work instructionsForms and inspection proceduresAssembly proceduresProduct labeling instructionsInstructional posters and visual aidsCampus maps and signageDrive documentation excellence by:Developing and maintaining documentation standards, templates, and style guidesManaging document revisions and version control throughout the product lifecycleEnsuring documentation complies with company standards, industry requirements, and customer expectationsContinuously identifying opportunities to simplify and improve technical documentationSupport digital documentation systems by:Maintaining the McElroy MEQ document repository and user interfaceCoordinating system enhancements and upgrades with the Web DesignerServing as the subject matter expert for the McElroy Quality Inspection Tool (QC Checklist database)Providing support and guidance to internal usersRecommending improvements that increase functionality and valueCollaborate across the organization by:Working closely with engineers, production teams, quality personnel, and subject matter experts to gather technical informationPartnering with the Safety team to create and maintain safety documentation, including:Safety manualsEmergency Action PlansSupervisor Safety PlansSupporting new product introductions by preparing internal documentation before product releaseCreate visual content by:Developing and editing technical illustrations, diagrams, photographs, and graphics that enhance understanding and improve usabilityWhat We're Looking ForRequired qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of technical writing experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or OEM environmentExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skillsAbility to interpret engineering drawings, mechanical assemblies, and technical specificationsExperience using Microsoft Office and document management systemsStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesPreferred qualifications:Experience with manufacturing equipment, industrial machinery, or OEM productsFamiliarity with SharePoint, intranet portals, and document management systemsExperience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Microsoft VisioExperience with Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesignKnowledge of Infor XA ERPFamiliarity with ISO quality standards and document control practicesExperience creating exploded-view illustrations and technical graphicsSkills that will help you succeed:Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to understand and communicate complex technical conceptsAnalytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamStrong time management and prioritization skillsPassion for continuous improvement and process documentationWorking environment:Primarily office-based with regular visits to climate-controlled manufacturing and production areasAppropriate PPE may be required when working in production environments
