Primary Responsibilities

Lead complex public affairs campaigns by analyzing the political landscape, developing campaign strategy, and overseeing execution of stakeholder engagement, grassroots lobbying, community outreach, and coalition-building plans.

Manage a portfolio of corporate clients and projects and grow client relationships.

Serve as a senior advisor and primary client contact for public affairs engagements, setting goals and objectives, advising on strategy, leading meetings, and ensuring timely delivery of reports, recommendations, and campaign updates.

Build coalitions in support of client objectives, including stakeholders, elected officials, opinion leaders, community organizations, media contacts, business and civic groups, and other third-party validators.

Manage, recruit, train, and mentor campaign staff, providing guidance on field strategy, client service, project management, writing, media monitoring, data use, stakeholder outreach, and professional development.

Attend client, regulatory, public, and community meetings; manage deadlines, budgets, project administration, and reporting; and travel to project areas as needed.

Support business development efforts by highlighting the firm's specific expertise and strengths to potential clients and existing clients for expanded scopes of service.

Represent the firm in a variety of trade associations, including serving on government relations committees and holding leadership positions within key organizations.

Qualifications

Significant experience in public affairs, political campaigns, issue advocacy, community engagement, government relations, strategic communications, or related consulting work.

Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements, manage teams, develop campaign strategy, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Strong writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex public policy, land-use, or development issues into clear and persuasive messages.

Experience working with elected officials, community organizations, business leaders, media, landowners, residents, and other stakeholders.

Sound judgment, political instincts, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving and high-pressure environments.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, campaign leadership experience, or senior-level consulting experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using campaign, research, media monitoring, voter data, digital advertising, or project management tools.
