About this Church
Since its founding in 1952, The Compass Church has been committed to biblical teaching, discipleship and outreach. As a member of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), it has grown into a multi-campus church serving the Chicagoland area with locations in Naperville, Wheaton, Bolingbrook, South Naperville, Plainfield and Hinsdale, along with CompassOnline and Compass Español to extend digital and Spanish-language ministry.

The church began as Wheaton Evangelical Free Church and quickly expanded with a Naperville congregation in 1957. Over time, it experienced steady growth and relocated several times to accommodate increasing attendance. In 2010, it adopted a multi-site model to broaden its regional impact. Key mergers and reunifications—including Wheaton Evangelical Free Church (2015), New Song Church in Bolingbrook (2016), and Three Rivers Church in Plainfield (2022)—strengthened its shared mission of helping people find and follow God.

Today, more than 4,000 people attend weekly across its campuses. The Compass Church balances unified teaching and shared mission with localized leadership that serves each community’s unique needs. This structure allows flexibility in ministry while maintaining strong biblical alignment and global outreach.

With a healthy staff culture, The Compass Church emphasizes collaborative leadership, strategic growth, and a welcoming environment for both long-time believers and those exploring faith for the first time.
