Position Summary: Stonehenge is seeking a business development leader, based in its New Haven, Connecticut office, to join its Direct Investing team. The group primarily provides senior term credit, subordinated debt, and equity co-investment to operating companies. This position will originate opportunities across the Stonehenge Direct Investing platform including a Connecticut-focused fund, lending to small businesses throughout the state.
Responsibilities Include: Focus primarily on business development for multiple Stonehenge funds providing senior stretch, mezzanine and equity capital in Connecticut and the region.
Represent Stonehenge in the Connecticut marketplace through a strong existing referral source network.
Originate new investment opportunities through marketing to key referral sources.
Work closely with regulators to ensure regulatory compliance.
Desired Experience and Skills: A deep network within the Connecticut business community and track record of originating investments in lower middle market businesses.
Familiarity with credit underwriting for non-bank transactions.
A strong work ethic and self-starter mentality, with the ability to create enduring relationships.
Solid interpersonal skills.
An ability to discuss financing options with business owners and management teams.
The highest degree of ethics and integrity and a “team player” mentality.
