The Manager, Business Development West leads the preparation of portfolio optimization activities and materials for the regional development team. This role is responsible for communicating progress on team goals to executive leadership, ensuring project data quality is maintained at all times, and helping drive strategy by coordinating between developers, commercial analysis, power marketing, and interconnection teams. This role willlead M&A evaluation and new market development functions in addition to managing internal reporting and communication.

Role Responsibilities:

Develop materials to support strategic decisions, market intelligence, competitive assessments, and internal approvals for project gating and investment

Build strategic rationale to support internal approvals and project gating decisions

Develop reports and dashboards to monitor progress against business goals and OKRs

Identify emerging trends and risks across target markets

Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to align market assumptions

Forecast and communicate upcoming regional approvals and obligations to leadership

Coordinate regional budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring QA/QC of inputs and developing budget reports

Implement strategic tools, standards, and best practices across the developmentorganization

Job Requirements and Experience:

M.S. in Data Science, Energy Policy, Finance preferred

Minimum 5 years renewable energy development experience, preferably in WECC and CAISO

Demonstrated history of communication with executive leadership

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage internal and external customerrelationships

Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewablesspace

Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams

Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meetdeadlines

Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks anddeliverables

Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team

Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities

Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set ofbackgrounds

Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and iscoachable

Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understandingof businessconcepts

This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations

Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California is $140,000 - $180,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
