The Senior Coordinator, Corporate Communications and Publicity will lead strategies that enhance The Orchard's public profile and key messaging via an informed, amplified voice in media including press coverage, industry events, speaking engagements, as well as internal communications and client-focused initiatives. The role is essential to enhancing the communications department goals and coordinating with other departments to ensure overall brand visibility. The Senior Coordinator, Corporate Communications is a full-time, in-office position based in New York City at The Orchard's headquarters and reports to the VP Global Corporate Communications.What You'll Do:Office-first role, in office 4 days a week.Aid in the planning and execution of communications initiatives that support The Orchard's internal and external strategic prioritiesAssist in drafting press materials, including releases, bios, talking points, decks as necessaryCollaborate with departments company-wide, assuring clear, consistent, and compelling messagingMaintain close relationship with umbrella corporate communications department; uphold and enforce guidelinesPerform department admin duties such as invoices, press tracking, face sheets, guest lists, and moreHire and direct photographers as necessary; Service photographs to mediaCompile and distribute weekly and semi-annual media reports for leadershipManage company-wide approvals for all speaking engagementsMaintain Comms calendar with speaking events, artist performances, social events, trade shows, awards shows, and other appropriate opportunities for company leadershipMaintain and organize departmental resources and records including annual subscriptions, press database, photos, bios, media mentions, and moreAdopt and implement new technology initiatives including daily news circulation, media briefs, and moreCompile targeted media lists as directed by the department lead; maintain journalist beats and movesCollaborate with the Director of Media & Artist Relations to support publicity campaigns and media outreach for select artists across The Orchard's rosterTrack and submit information/submissions for industry power listsCollaborate with external media partnersMonitor client nominations and wins at global awards ceremoniesIdentify story ideas aligning with company goals and select client initiativesElevate internal and external company events, coordinate conference participationIdentify and evaluate music industry-related data including trends, current events, hot topics, etc.Attend company events and showsWho You Are:2+ years of music industry corporate communications or publicity experience, preferably at a label or independent PR firmStrong understanding of the music media and PR landscape; understanding of digital distribution preferredSome established relationships with reporters, editors, social media influencers, photographers, and cultural tastemakersExperience executing press campaignsExcellent written and oral communication skills; business writing experience preferredProven effective relationship builder and collaboratorStrong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multitask, meet tight deadlines and stay focused under pressureSolid project management capabilitiesHighly proficient ability to think both analytically and creativelyAbility to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environmentExperience with media monitoring and press release distribution services (e.g. Cision, Constant Contact, Muckrack)Discretion and experience handling sensitive/confidential informationKnowledge of all major social media platforms and content creationTech-savvy with facility to learn and use new platforms and programsPassionate about independent music sectorWhat We Give You:You'll join an inclusive, collaborative, and global community where you have the opportunity to fuel the creative journey.A modern office environment designed to foster productivity, creativity, and teamworkOpportunities to connect with our valuable resources, such as our Counsel of Equity & Progressive Action (CEPA).
