Responsibilities
Support the planning and execution of campus events by assisting with advanced A/V and IT operations. This position is ideal for students with prior experience in event support or A/V technology who are looking to expand their leadership and troubleshooting skills. In addition to set-up and monitoring, Level 2 assistants will help train new student staff, troubleshoot real-time issues, and serve as primary contacts for on-site event tech support when needed. Responsibilities and Career Competencies:
Lead or assist with setup and teardown of complex A/V and IT systems for campus events – C, TW, P, T, L
Serve as on-site technical support for events, handling troubleshooting and escalated issues – CT, T, C, P
Provide guidance, mentorship, and informal training to Level 1 student staff – L, TW, C, P
Coordinate closely with event organizers and university staff to confirm A/V requirements – C, P, TW, CT
Assist in testing and configuring advanced A/V systems, including A/V over IP setups and hybrid event platforms – T, CT, P
Maintain equipment inventory and assist with routine maintenance and updates – T, P
Act as a liaison between the IT department and event coordinators to ensure high-quality service – C, P, CTR
Support ongoing efforts to improve processes and event tech procedures – CT, L, CSD
