Executive Director, Video and Content ProductionTexas A&M University is seeking an Executive Director of Video Content and Production to lead the next era of video storytelling for one of the nation's largest, most visible, and most consequential public universities. This role serves as the executive producer for Texas A&M's central video storytelling operation. The Executive Director will lead the strategy, development, production, distribution, and performance of video content that strengthens the university's brand, reputation, reach, recall, and relevance. The ideal candidate is a creative leader, story strategist, executive producer, team builder, and audience-minded operator. This person must be able to produce exceptional work, raise the creative standard of the team, mentor and develop video professionals, and help build a modern content operation that can deliver both signature storytelling and fast, platform-native content.Texas A&M has no shortage of powerful stories. The Executive Director will help ensure that Texas A&M's most important stories are not only captured, but remembered, shared, and understood.ResponsibilitiesLead the creative and editorial direction for Texas A&M's central video content operationServe as the executive producer for major video projects, including brand campaigns, institutional storytelling, reputation-building content, research and impact stories, student and former student profiles, presidential and executive communications, national moments, and major university initiativesIdentify the stories Texas A&M should tell, why they matter, who they are for, and how they should be shaped for maximum impactTranslate university priorities, brand strategy, audience insights, and communications objectives into compelling video concepts, formats, series, and campaignsEnsure video content advances Texas A&M's institutional goals and reflects the university's mission, values, distinctiveness, and national ambitionLead the development and production of high-quality video content that is emotionally powerful, visually excellent, strategically clear, and built for the platforms where audiences actually consume contentOversee projects from concept through final delivery, including creative briefs, story development, scripting, interview planning, pre-production, field production, post-production, review, distribution planning, and performance analysisRaise the standard for narrative structure, pacing, interviews, visuals, sound, music, graphics, editing, and overall creative qualityEnsure Texas A&M's video storytelling is distinctive, memorable, human, and worthy of the university's scale and impactGuide the production of a range of video formats, including documentary-style storytelling, social video, YouTube content, brand campaigns, executive communications, live event content, paid media assets, rapid-response content, and platform-native seriesAttract, hire, lead, coach, develop, and expand a team of videographers, editors, producers, and content creatorsCreate a culture of creative excellence, accountability, collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvementProvide clear creative direction and constructive feedback that improves both the work and the people doing itHelp team members grow in storytelling, production judgment, technical skills, creative confidence, platform fluency, and strategic thinkingAssign work based on team strengths, workload, priorities, and development opportunitiesCreate an environment where talented people can do the best work of their careersDevelop repeatable systems that allow the team to produce high-end signature work and timely platform-native content with clarity, consistency, and speedCreate and refine production calendars, workflows, creative review processes, vendor processes, asset management practices, and quality standardsPartner closely with brand, social media, digital, earned media, executive communications, colleges, schools, units, athletics, agencies, freelancers, and external partnersManage external production partners, freelancers, agencies, and vendors when neededEnsure video operations are organized, efficient, collaborative, and aligned with the broader priorities of Marketing & CommunicationsHelp Texas A&M build a stronger video presence across priority platforms, including YouTube, social media, owned channels, paid media, events, and partner channelsWork with social, digital, paid media, earned media, and analytics colleagues to ensure videos are not only produced well, but launched, distributed, measured, and optimized effectivelyUnderstand how video titles, thumbnails, hooks, pacing, retention, packaging, search, playlists, series development, publishing cadence, and platform behavior affect performanceHelp develop recurring formats, series, and platform-native storytelling approaches that grow audience, deepen engagement, and make Texas A&M more memorable to the people it needs to reachUse data and audience insights to improve future creative decisions, distribution strategies, and content performanceEnsure all video content meets Texas A&M brand standards, accessibility standards, copyright requirements, privacy laws, media usage policies, and quality expectationsOversee production budgets, resource allocation, equipment needs, vendor relationships, and project timelinesMaintain high standards for digital asset management, storage, tagging, retrieval, rights management, and long-term usability of video assetsEnsure video and multimedia projects are delivered on time, on strategy, on brand, and at a high level of qualityLocation: College StationSalary: Commensurate based on selected candidate's experience.Application Materials: A cover letter, resume, and portfolio or link to portfolio are strongly recommended and will help in our review.
