The ideal candidate has a passion for Jewish learning and community and is excited to bring Judaism to life through experiential activities and programming. The Programming Director will work directly with the Rabbi, Operations Manager, and Youth Director, and build relationships with community members across a wide range of ages, life stages, and Jewish backgrounds to engage our entire multi-generational community.
Responsibilities
In conjunction with the Rabbi, create and organize educational programming for the Orach Chaim community throughout the year, including pre-holiday shiurim, monthly reading group, guest speakers, cultural trips/outings, and other holiday-related events
Plan and execute 3-4 Scholar-in-Residence dinners and community Shabbat meals per year, including working directly with caterers, creating seating charts, and managing all aspects of event logistics before and during the events
Oversee other community gatherings such as Purim and Chanukah activities, Host/Be Hosted Shabbats, volunteer activities, and more
Develop budget for events and programs with approval of relevant Board members
Create and distribute promotional flyers and other materials for all events, coordinate event marketing across multiple media platforms, and share post-event content on various platforms to increase reach and further engage the community
Manage event registration and other backend details through Shulcloud platform
Coordinate shul calendar, custodial, security, and other logistical needs for all events with Operations Manager
Work with Youth Director to coordinate a robust programming calendar of youth and family events, assisting with arranging logistics as needed
In addition to working extensively with the Rabbi to identify programming opportunities and needs, the Programming Director will report directly to the Shul President and occasionally report to the shul board with high-level program updates and outlook.
