Come join us!The RoleThe People team is small, high-leverage, and building the operating infrastructure that a company at our stage needs. This role is at the center of that.This is not a support role. You are the operational backbone of People at Overjet — the person who ensures payroll closes without error, new hires feel set up for success on Day 1, the San Mateo office feels alive, and every HR process runs like it was built by someone who is a systems thinker.You'll own systems end-to-end. You'll use AI tools as a genuine force multiplier. You'll report directly to the Director of People & Performance with real visibility into how the business runs.The right person sees a broken process and fixes it before being asked. They're as comfortable running multi-state payroll as they are ordering snacks and setting up the AV for a company all-hands. They help us build a people focused organization.ResponsibilitiesSystems & Payroll Own Rippling end-to-end: configurations, workflows, integrations, data integrity, reportingRun multi-state US payroll accurately and on time, every cycleManage EoR coordination and onboarding for PK/EGYAdminister benefits programs: open enrollment, carrier relationships, employee inquiries, plan updatesMaintain HRIS data hygiene: org chart accuracy, employee records, change management, audit readinessPeople Programs Own onboarding end-to-end: pre-Day-1 system setup, Overjet 101 orientation coordination, equipment provisioning, 30/60/90 check-in scheduling, buddy program managementOwn offboarding: system access revocation, asset retrieval, exit documentation, final pay coordinationMaintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies as the company evolvesServe as the first response for employee HR questions — payroll discrepancies, benefit questions, leave requests, policy clarifications. Build out Serval workflows to automate responses to employees.Workplace Experience (20%) Manage San Mateo office operations two days per weekOwn supply and snack ordering on a consistent cadence — office always stockedCoordinate team outings, in-office events, and culture momentsManage AV setup and troubleshoot meeting technologyMaintain vendor relationships and building management coordinationAI & Automation Build and maintain integrations between Rippling, Ashby, and adjacent people toolsUse Claude and other AI tools to automate repetitive workflows, draft communications, and surface data insightsDocument every process you own with enough clarity that it can be handed off or automatedQualifications4–5 years of People Operations or HR Generalist experience, with at least one stint at a startup or high-growth companyProven Rippling ownership — you've built workflows, configured modules, run payroll, and kept data clean; you're not just a userMulti-state payroll experience; international EoR (Deel or equivalent) familiarity strongly preferredActive AI tool user — you've used Claude, to meaningfully get work done, not just to experimentBenefits administration experience: you've run or supported open enrollment and can manage a broker relationshipTrack record of managing competing priorities without things falling through the cracksDemonstrated discretion with sensitive information, comp data, PIPs, offboardings, employee relationsClear, direct communicator - written and verbalHow You WorkExtreme ownership.
