Radio Personalities (Volunteer Independent Contractor)

Position Summary
The 401 Plug is looking for energetic, authentic personalities to host original radio shows focused on Hip-Hop, R&B, Afrobeats, Dancehall, culture, sports, entertainment, or community conversations. This is an opportunity to build your personal brand while becoming part of one of Rhode Island's fastest-growing digital radio platforms.

Responsibilities

Host live or prerecorded radio shows

Prepare show topics and music playlists

Interview artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders

Engage listeners through social media

Promote your show consistently

Represent The 401 Plug professionally

Generate advertising and sponsorship opportunities

Commission Opportunity
Earn commissions from:

Advertising sales

Show sponsorships

Event sponsorships

Business partnerships

Studio rentals you refer

Podcast production referrals

Ideal Candidate

Strong personality

Comfortable speaking live

Passion for music and culture

Self-motivated

Existing local network is a plus

Requirements
Job Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Passion for Hip-Hop, R&B, Afrobeats, Dancehall, or urban culture

Comfortable speaking live on-air or recording content

Reliable transportation to the studio (when required)

Basic knowledge of social media platforms

Ability to commit to a consistent show schedule

Professional attitude and willingness to represent The 401 Plug positively

Preferred

Previous radio, podcasting, public speaking, or broadcasting experience

Existing social media following

Experience interviewing guests
