Description

The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy seeks a part-time Clinical Musician to support the musicianship training of music therapy trainees.
The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy provides onsite music therapy services, trains graduate and post-graduate level music therapy students and professionals, and conducts research advancing knowledge into the Nordoff-Robbins approach.
Position summary:
Provide musical training for music therapy trainees.
Develop a curriculum of music therapy musicianship skills.
Facilitate weekly classes with 3-6 music therapy trainees in the instruction of musical skills necessary for clinical music therapy.
Fully on-site.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay rate for this position is $130.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications

Required Education
Master’s degree in music therapy
Required Experience
5 years of clinical music therapy experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced musical skills on piano or guitar; robust harmonic and stylistic musical vocabulary
