Job Summary
Ascendis Pharma is seeking a
Vice President US Marketing
to lead U.S. marketing across its growing endocrine rare disease portfolio. Reporting to the Joe Kelly, SVP, U.S. Endocrinology Franchise Head, this individual will be responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and execution of marketing across three commercial brands in the U.S., including YORVIPATH® (hypoparathyroidism), SKYTROFA® (growth hormone deficiency), and YUVIWEL® (achondroplasia).
This leader will play a critical role in maximizing the performance of currently marketed products while preparing for and executing future growth opportunities, ensuring strong portfolio positioning, differentiated brand strategies, and sustained revenue growth. The VP will oversee both brand and portfolio strategy, aligning cross-functional teams to deliver impact across healthcare providers, patients, and payers in the U.S. market.
Essential Functions and Duties
Develop and lead U.S. portfolio and brand strategies across Ascendis’ commercial endocrine assets, including YORVIPATH®, SKYTROFA®, and YUVIWEL®
Provide leadership for the Marketing team including organizational design, staffing, developing and mentoring the team.
Drive end-to-end marketing strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and U.S. commercial priorities
Oversee brand planning and lifecycle management across all three products
Develop and execute integrated tactical plans to maximize market share, patient adoption, and revenue growth across the portfolio
Partner closely with Market Access to ensure aligned strategies on pricing, reimbursement, and distribution in the U.S. market
Ensure Sales teams are equipped with compelling messaging, tools, and resources tailored to diverse stakeholder groups (HCPs, patients, payers)
Establish KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate brand and portfolio success, and adjust strategies based on insights
Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Market Access, Legal/Compliance, and Commercial Operations to ensure aligned execution
Lead competitive intelligence efforts and assess implications for portfolio positioning and strategy
Key contributor to forecasting and long-range planning for the U.S. portfolio, identifying key growth drivers and risks
Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders to inform strategy and enhance disease awareness
Support ongoing lifecycle expansion opportunities and potential future indications across the portfolio
Ensure all marketing activities are executed in full compliance with U.S. regulatory and legal requirements
Skills and Experience
BA/BS required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
15+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
Significant experience in U.S. marketing leadership roles, including multi-brand or portfolio responsibility
Strong background across Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and/or Commercial Operations
Demonstrated success in product launches and lifecycle management, ideally in rare disease and/or endocrinology
Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate into clear, executable plans
Excellent communication and leadership presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Highly analytical and results-oriented mindset
Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare, reimbursement, and regulatory environment
Demonstrated commitment to ethics, compliance, and patient-centricity
