Director, Investor Relations & Communications Peptilogics is a surgical therapeutics company dedicated to curing and preventing devastating medical device-related infections (MDRI). Our lead candidate, PLG0206, is a first-in-class drug that targets biofilm, a protective bacterial matrix that is the root cause of device infections across surgical categories, and has no approved cure to date. PLG0206 is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2/3 registration trial for the treatment of prosthetic joint infection (PJI), the first of multiple potential indications to treat and prevent MDRI.
Position Overview The Director, Investor Relations & Communications leads all external communications tied to Peptilogics' corporate narrative, investor engagement, and public positioning. This individual is the key point of contact for current and prospective investors, analysts, and media, ensuring consistent, transparent, and compelling messaging across every channel, and also supports strategic internal communications and cross-functional alignment around value-creating milestones. Reporting to the COO (CFO once hired), the role collaborates closely with Finance, Clinical, Regulatory, and Corporate Operations to shape disclosures, presentations, and communications strategy. The ideal candidate brings deep life-sciences IR experience, thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, and can build a compelling narrative for a category-defining asset where there may be no clear analogs of success, building the investor infrastructure and external positioning needed to support future raises and long-term market shaping.
Essential Functions Develop and execute Peptilogics' investor-relations strategy, including calendar planning, proactive outreach, content creation, and engagement tracking
Serve as primary point of contact for current and prospective investors, analysts, and relevant media
Own development and maintenance of all IR materials, investor decks, fact sheets, financing announcements, press releases, and Q&A documents
Manage public-facing channels, including the corporate website and social platforms, ensuring timely, accurate, compliant, and consistent messaging
Coordinate investor and analyst engagement across conferences, non-deal roadshows, and industry events
Lead message development for key milestones, clinical readouts, regulatory updates, financings, grant awards, and commercial progress
Track and report investor sentiment, sector trends, competition, and peer communications to inform executive decisions and positioning
Manage IR/PR agency relationships to support execution, visibility, and crisis response
Prepare executives for investor meetings, speaking engagements, and media with tailored briefings and coaching
Operationalize a recurring investor-update cadence (quarterly reports, post-Board updates, ad hoc news flow) and translate internal insights into investor-facing narrative
Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, Legal, and Finance to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and alignment in public-facing documents
Support internal communications and collaborate with Corporate Operations for consistency across internal and external messaging
Contribute to Board materials and corporate reporting tied to strategic communications and investor engagement
Support presence at scientific conferences, trade shows, and investor events; contribute to pre-commercial positioning as programs advance
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex scientific and financial information into clear, compelling messaging
Proven ability to lead IR strategy and manage buy- and sell-side relationships in biotech or life sciences
Deep understanding of the pre-commercial biotech landscape, capital markets, development milestones, and regulatory communications
Strong organizational and project-management skills against tight, high-stakes deadlines
Sound, independent judgment in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Comfort serving as a public-facing representative across external communications and events
Discretion and professionalism with sensitive or confidential information
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in life sciences, finance, or communications strongly preferred
8-12 years in investor relations, corporate communications, or strategic finance within biotech, pharma, orthopedics, or healthcare
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading investor communications at a pre- or early-commercial life-sciences company
Experience coordinating across Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance for compliant, accurate external messaging
Desirable Qualifications and Skills Orthopedic and MedTech market experience
Experience overseeing corporate websites and social channels for investor/reputational communications
Familiarity with SEC regulations and disclosure practices relevant to private and public biotech
Direct experience with PR/IR agencies and cross-channel campaigns
Background in financial analysis or capital markets; ability to interpret market sentiment and peer performance
Prior involvement in crossover rounds, IPO positioning, or strategic partnerships
