PURPOSE
The Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator is a grant funded position that sits at the intersection of community outreach, student recruitment, business development and fundraising. The primary function of this position is to serve as the public face of MTCHS, simultaneously executing marketing strategies to attract, engage, and recruit prospective students and families and driving high-impact partnerships with local industry leaders.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direct supervision from the Charter Administrator or Administrative Designee. Works collaboratively with school administration, instructional staff, industry advisory boards, prospective families, and community stakeholders. Does not directly supervise other permanent staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Marketing & Student Recruitment
Design and execute an annual student recruitment campaign across the Treasure Valley to maintain a robust, diverse applicant pipeline.
Organize and host campus tours, info nights, open houses, and visits to feeder middle schools to engage prospective students and parents.
Produce engaging digital content (social media, newsletter stories, website updates, and facility expansion progress reports) and printed marketing collateral to highlight student success stories and school programs.
Support prospective families through the charter application and lottery process, ensuring high conversion from inquiry to application.
Events & Public Relations
Represent MTCHS at local career fairs, chamber of commerce meetings, and workforce development events.
Arrange and organize booths at local events to reach families and potential students in the community.
Lead planning and execution for major milestone events related to facility expansion (e.g., donor appreciation dinners, expansion groundbreaking/ribbon-cutting ceremonies).
Fundraising & Industry Partnerships
Work with others to support capital fundraising plan.
Be the lead at the school level for fundraising activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Modern marketing and communication strategies, including social media management, email campaigns, and brand development.
The local Treasure Valley business landscape and workforce development needs in technical fields.
Enrollment, recruitment, and public relations processes within K-12 or charter school environments.
Ability to:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with executive-level corporate leaders, community members, parents, and adolescent students.
Deliver engaging, persuasive presentations and pitch proposals to potential families.
Establish and maintain positive, professional, and cooperative working relationships with staff, partners, and the public.
Work independently, manage complex projects simultaneously, set task priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) required.
Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in marketing, educational recruitment, sales, community relations, or corporate sponsorships.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional travel around the Treasure Valley area required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Full-time, 12-month exempt position.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES
