Strong understanding of accessibility standards
(WCAG 2.1).
Proficiency in web technologies such as
HTML, CSS, and ARIA roles .
Ability to develop and implement solutions to accessibility issues, including remediation of documents and web content.
Experience in web development, digital content remediation, or user experience design.
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., WAVE, Siteimprove) and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers such as NVDA).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document issues and train non-technical staff.
Accessibility Specialist – Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive
accessibility audits
of the website, web applications, and digital content to identify and evaluate accessibility issues.
Document accessibility findings
clearly and provide practical, standards-based remediation recommendations aligned with
WCAG 2.1 .
Collaborate closely with
developers, designers, communications teams, and business stakeholders
to incorporate accessibility best practices into design, development, and publishing workflows.
Provide
accessibility training, guidance, and best-practice recommendations
staff to promote long-term accessibility compliance and awareness.
