Graphic Design Specialist IThe Graphic Design Specialist I is responsible for assisting in the design and layout of compelling, clear and concise documents and collateral, including but not limited to brochures, posters, signs, presentations, etc. for the County of Chester using various desktop publishing programs and/or photographic elements.Essential DutiesDesigns, creates layouts, and produces a variety of materials for digital and print platforms, including, but not limited to infographics, brochures, charts and diagrams, reports, web images, and social media visual content.Stays up to date with the latest visual communications/graphic design trends.Works closely with county communications team to understand the needs and wants of products.Follows visual branding/standards as needed.Coordinates printing services.Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & ExperienceRequired:Associate's degree in Graphic Arts, Design, or a related field, orOne year of job-related experience or training, orEquivalent combination of education, training and experience.Preferred:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Arts/Design or a related field, orOne or more years of job-related experience or training, orEquivalent combination of education, training and experience.Other Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and abilitiesStrong demonstrated abilities required: - Verbal and written skills - Listening and communication skills - Interpersonal skills - Organizational skills - Time Management skills - Customer Service skills - Analytical/Problem Solving skills - Presentation skills - Project Management skills - Prioritization/Multi-tasking skills - Motivated/Works Independently - Detail Oriented/Accurate - Adaptable/Flexible - Sound reasoning and judgement skills - Honesty, Integrity and Professional Ethics Also required:Strong creative design skills.Ability to accept constructive criticism.Ability to conceptualize and design products based on verbal and abstract client directives.Strong proof reading and editing skills.Ability to meet objectives independently and as part of a team.Desire to learn new tasks.Must maintain confidentiality.Ability to work a flexible schedule with extended hours, as necessary.Preferred:Design ability for diverse target audiences.Ability to think strategically.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.A valid driver's license.Additional InformationRelevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.
