The Iowa State Public Defender’s Office in Sioux City is seeking a Public Defender 1 – Gideon Fellow to serve in the Woodbury County Adult office. You will advocate for indigent clients, receive mentorship, and represent clients in court across pre-trial hearings and trials.
You will prepare defenses, conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and coordinate with prosecutors on plea negotiations and case strategy. This is a non-merit, public defender position in Iowa.
