Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Consultant Microsoft Purview (HYBRID ROLE). In this hybrid role, you will provide expert guidance and support to clients in adopting and optimizing Microsoft Purview and its supporting Microsoft 365 technologies, including Defender, Intune, Microsoft Cloud App Security, and Entra ID. You will lead the design and implementation of data governance, compliance, and security solutions, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Consultation and Solution Design:
- Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements related to data governance, compliance, and security.
- Provide expert advice on leveraging Microsoft Purview and supporting technologies to meet regulatory and operational needs.
- Design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions using Microsoft Purview, Defender, Intune, and Cloud App Security.
- Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
- Advise clients on AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices within Microsoft 365.
- Design and implement policies for ethical use of AI technologies, including Copilot.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for AI usage and data handling.
- Support clients in deploying and managing Microsoft Copilot across M365 applications.
- Develop strategies for Copilot adoption, training, and governance.
- Integrate Copilot capabilities with existing workflows while maintaining data security.
Assessment & Enhancement of Existing Deployments:
- Conduct in-depth assessments of Microsoft Purview and M365 environments, focusing on compliance, data classification, insider risk management, and information protection.
- Create business-aligned strategies to drive adoption of Purview and supporting technologies.
- Configure and customize Purview policies and workflows to align with client requirements.
- Develop migration plans for legacy compliance and security tools to Microsoft Purview.
- Ensure integration and interoperability between Purview and other Microsoft 365 services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Purview deployments.
- Assess and enhance Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for AI workloads.
- Implement Microsoft Purview and Defender solutions to monitor and protect sensitive data used by AI.
- Establish continuous monitoring and reporting mechanisms for AI-related data risks.
Project Management and Team Leadership:
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including security engineers, compliance officers, and IT administrators.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior consultants.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, industry standards, and compliance regulations.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Understand client business objectives and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update clients on project progress and deliverables.
- Address client concerns and provide timely resolutions.
CIO Advisory:
- Participate in virtual CIO Advisory engagements.
- Assist in strategy development across data governance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Principal Consultant or similar role, specializing in Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, and Compliance Manager.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Intune, Cloud App Security, and Entra ID.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SEC, FINRA).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or other relevant languages.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.

- Deep expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Purview (eDiscovery, DLP, Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, etc.), as well as Intune and Cybersecurity.
- Currently serving as Principal M365 ACE Engineer at Microsoft, delivering engineering-led support to strategic customers through proactive engagement and direct collaboration with product teams. Provides mentorship, team leadership, and trusted advisor services.
