Pay:

Job type:
Temporary

The Experiential Graphic Designer is a creative role that combines graphic design with spatial and environmental design to create immersive experiences. At WEBB, we are firm believers in practice as play, where our collaborative efforts allow us to push boundaries. We dream big, and we’re looking for a fellow dreamer to join us in creating unforgettable experiences. This role is perfect for those who are visual story tellers that love to engage and inspire attendees in a physical space. Whether it’s a branded environment, expo hall, over-the-top party, or a wayfinding system, this role is for the innovative thinkers who can seamlessly blend graphics with architecture and fabrication. If you love to make an impact on how people interact with their surroundings through visual and spatial design, then we want to hear from you.

This is not a traditional brand, digital, or UX/UI design role. The work is designed for the physical world and must hold up from concept through production and installation. This role is pivotal in crafting immersive and engaging visual experiences that seamlessly blend graphic design with physical spaces. As an Experiential Graphic Designer, you will focus on creating visually stimulating environments that enhance brand identity and user interactions. This position requires a blend of graphic design, 3D design, and spatial awareness, along with an understanding of materials, fabrication, large-format production, and installation. You will collaborate with producers, technical directors, fabricators (from our in-house shop), installers, and clients to create compelling designs that work within venue, schedule, budget, and production constraints.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES //

Conceptualize and design engaging environmental graphics and scenic builds for various event spaces such as product experiences, brand activations, hallway and wayfinding elements, celebration events, and even staging or stage elements.

Develop wayfinding strategies and systems that guide users effectively through complex environments.

Collaborate with producers, technical directors, fabricators, and other stakeholders to ensure all design elements align with projects & venue constraints.

Create detailed design documentation and specifications for production and installation.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.

Conduct site visits and provide oversight during the installation phase to ensure design intent is achieved.

Communicate design concepts through sketches, mockups or renderings, and presentations to clients and team members.

Work closely with fabricators and installers to translate design concepts into physical installations.

Ensure all designs adhere to branding guidelines and client requirements.

Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS //

Three or more years of professional experience in environmental, experiential, exhibition, event, retail, wayfinding, or other spatial graphic design.

Strong portfolio showcasing experience in creating highly visual environmental experiences, wayfinding systems, branded environments, and any other relevant experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Exhibit Design, or a related field.

Advanced proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.

Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software.

Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and visual composition.

Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Ability to work well in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Knowledge of materials and fabrication processes used in environmental graphics.

Ability to interpret dimensions, drawings, floor plans, brand standards, and production specifications with a high degree of accuracy.

Experience designing for large-scale live events, exhibits, brand activations, or temporary branded environments is strongly preferred.

At WEBB, we do great things. We create. We execute. We love our work and take pride in producing memorable experiences for our clients and their audiences. If you’re excited by the opportunity to turn creative ideas into physical environments, we’d love to hear from you.
