To support a healthcare billing team, the full-time remote Connecticut Medical Accounts Specialist will coordinate accounts receivable collections, audit and resolve outstanding balances, and manage patient inquiries regarding billing processes.
Key responsibilities
Audit and resolve accounts with credit and outstanding balances, determining the disposition of delinquent accounts
Post payments and adjustments while ensuring compliance with established fee schedules
Respond to patient inquiries and collaborate with office managers to ensure data quality from staff and providers
Required qualifications
Associate's degree in Health Information Management Systems or related field with 1+ years of experience in healthcare billing and collections, or Coding Certification/Billing Certificate Program with 2 years of experience, or 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing and collections
In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Codes, Medicare and Medicaid billing rules, and insurance reimbursement methods
Understanding of the claims appeal process and managed care contracts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
