Communications AssociateThe Communications Associate position will provide support to the Communications Department of the New York Mets, specifically focused on baseball media. This role will assist in the day-to-day execution of media operations, including working with players, media, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and high-quality communications. This position will offer an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a variety of roles.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Media Relations & Game-Day OperationsSupport player and media interactions, including interviews and press conferencesAssist with setup and operation of press areas for home gamesDistribute postgame notes and provide research support to media membersAssist with press conferences, including facilitating reporter accessWriting & EditorialContribute to the creation of daily game notes used by mediaAssist with development of the annual Media Guide, including research, data entry, fact-checking, and proofreadingSupport writing and editing for Mets Magazine (game day publication)Assist with the Year in Review publication, including content updates and proofreadingSupport drafting and editing press releasesPerform media analysis and draft reports and press summariesMedia Operations & Content DistributionCompile and distribute daily media clips to internal stakeholders and mediaMonitor broadcast and digital outlets to gather Mets-related video coverage and produce clip summariesAssist with credentialing operations, including preparation and distribution of media credentialsMonitor social media to keep tabs on the latest trends and newsSupport media parking logistics on game daysCross-Functional & Event SupportPartner with the Community Engagement team to help secure media coverage for eventsAssist with offseason media activities and organizational charitable eventsProvide general operational and administrative support to the Communications department including monitoring the media relations inboxQualifications & Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Sports Administration/Management, or a related fieldStrong writing, editing, and proofreading skillsAvailability to work nights and weekends, as assigned, based on the Mets scheduleHighly organized with strong attention to detailStrong interpersonal and communication skillsThe above information is intended to describe the general nature, type, and level of work to be performed.
