Summary function
Works within the social media team with a focus on section or committee specific social media communications. Works with the Social Media Manager and Communications Director in planning and implementation of programs, uses creativity in message composition and in designing informational, educational, and promotional communications.
Required minimum education:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field (proof of degree required at interview).
Required minimum professional work experience:
Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant work experience managing social media channels. Public relations agency is preferred. Must have a proven track record in building social media presence and using results-driven data, an intimate understanding of social media strategy and content development experience and experience with social network management systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates and implements Section-specific social media strategy, including: daily monitoring (replies to comments and messages); developing content, setting a posting schedule and posting; planning and implementing promotion of social media to increase target audience use and participation.
Identifies and monitors key metrics for social media platforms for each Section account, adjusts strategy as needed and prepares regular status reports on audience engagement.
Assists Social Media Manager with TFB and YLD accounts as necessary.
Participates as a member of the Communications Team and cross-trains duties of other positions on the team.

Knowledge:
Communications principles and techniques
Excellent written and verbal communications and strong editing skills for spelling and grammar
Social media applications/tools and best practices for social media and electronic communications
Professional office procedures and practices
Graphic design principles and layout, design and photo-correcting programs (examples: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
Skills:
Demonstrated experience in developing, managing and implementing social media plans
Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
Strong computer/internet skills, including all Microsoft Office programs
Working effectively in a multi-tasking environment
Identifying threats and misinformation in user generated content
Abilities:
Work independently and handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
Gather, analyze and confirm accuracy of data
Adapt and acquire additional necessary skills to manage social media and electronic communications
Use discretion and independent judgment
Interpret and follow policies and procedures
Manage and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Manage project budget and conduct annual budget planning
Travel
Use of office equipment especially PC and telephone

Hear and converse over the telephone
