Marketing Manager

Underline · Colorado Springs, CO, USA ·

Job type:
Full Time

At Underline, we've rapidly built a culture around ownership, trust, community, and innovation. Underline is dedicated to cultivating a growth environment where people feel valued, work with a purpose of mission, are personally rewarded, and are professionally challenged.
Are you ready to join this team and transform American communities? Underline was founded in 2019 with a singular mission: to ensure the vibrancy of our nation through building intelligent community infrastructure in a socially equitable manner. We work with American communities to design, finance, and construct open access fiber-optic networks. These networks are critical to secure internet access that’s fast, affordable, and fair. As open access networks, this infrastructure is also the essential foundation for distributed healthcare services, new wireless solutions, and resilient infrastructure including modernized water systems and responsible energy creation. Our first two projects are in Colorado Springs and Fountain, Colorado.
About this Position We are seeking an energetic, results-driven professional with at least 5 years of experience to join our expanding marketing team. As the Marketing Manager, you will drive Underline's local marketing execution and be responsible for developing the cross-channel and grassroots programs, content, and materials that drive awareness and adoption. We are looking for a dedicated teammate who maintains a high standard of professionalism, excels in a dynamic setting, and is inspired by clear, objective-led performance milestones. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to cover evening and weekend shifts for on-site event oversight.
Does this sound like you? You've run integrated marketing campaigns across paid and unpaid channels and know how to sequence them for lead generation, not just brand awareness.
You build real relationships with community partners like HOAs, Chambers of Commerce, and local VIPs, and you know the difference between a partnership that drives signups and one that just looks good on a sponsorship deck.
You're equally comfortable writing campaign copy and standing in front of a room representing the company.
You track your work back to results and can explain what a dollar of marketing spend actually bought.
What you'd be doing: Own execution of quarterly campaign plans across paid channels (print, direct mail, billboards,) unpaid channels (eblast
ewsletters, organic social), plus grassroots and community programs
Drive process for material creation in alignment with channel strategy (copy, Visual Brand Manager briefs, Asana, approval) for all campaigns, events, and Champion touch points as well as client-lifecycle materials (welcome kits, Champion materials, newsletters)
Develop the Champion and referral program strategy—including messaging, materials, and recruitment across all segments: residential clients, businesses, HOAs, Chambers of Commerce, VIP contacts etc.
Lead social media strategy-create content that builds community presence, drives organic engagement, and activates Champions, partners, and clients to amplify the brand through their own networks
Manage public-facing social and review platforms (BBB, Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, Chamber profiles) engaging with reviews, testimonials, and comments to protect brand reputation
Lead event strategy, vetting (ROI, audience, service area), and sponsorship, and oversee the end to end execution (materials, swag, giveaways, contact capture)
Manage strategic relationships with HOAs, Chambers of Commerce, and VIP partners and serve as a public-facing representative for Underline-present at key events and activations, speaking confidently to the brand, its offerings, and its mission
Synthesize field and competitive intelligence into actionable strategy
Manage monthly marketing expense reporting (tracking and reconciliation), rolling up to the Director for final budget sign-off
Experience we require: 5+ years of marketing experience spanning both paid and unpaid channels, ideally including direct mail, digital ads, and event or community marketin
Experience in B2B and B2C services marketing
Proven experience managing external partnerships (HOAs, chambers of commerce, community organizations, or similar)
Strong copywriting and editing skills across formats: campaign copy, social media, email, print
Experience managing budgets, including tracking spend and reconciling against plan
Comfort representing a company publicly at events and in community settings
Experience managing social media and online reputation, including responding to reviews and public comments
Ability to work cross-functionally with sales leadership to align marketing activity with territory and revenue priorities
Experience with telecommunication or other complex services marketing
Familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools
Experience building or managing a formal ambassador, champion, or referral partner program
