Lighting & Service Technician
Seeking a hands-on Lighting & Service Technician to support live events, permanent installations, equipment repairs, and service operations. This role combines shop, warehouse, and field work involving professional entertainment lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair professional lighting equipment.
Support event load-ins/load-outs, installations, commissioning, programming, and on-site technical support.
Diagnose and repair moving lights, LED fixtures, consoles, dimming, and control systems.
Perform preventative maintenance, equipment testing, calibration, and quality checks.
Troubleshoot DMX, RDM, sACN, Art-Net, and related lighting control systems.
Coordinate warranty repairs, manufacturers, vendors, and replacement parts.
Maintain repair records, work orders, inventory, and service documentation.
Provide technical support and customer training both remotely and on-site.
Assist with warehouse operations, equipment preparation, and inventory management.
Travel locally and occasionally out of town for service calls, installations, and productions.
Required Qualifications:
Technical experience with lighting systems, electronics repair, or a related technical field.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Experience using hand/power tools, multimeters, soldering, and low-voltage cable termination.
Experience setting up and tearing down lighting equipment for events or installations.
Knowledge of lighting consoles such as ETC EOS, GrandMA, Hog, or ChamSys.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Basic Microsoft Office/computer skills.
Comfortable working at heights and in shop, warehouse, and jobsite environments.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work as required.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years repairing moving or static lighting fixtures.
Manufacturer training/certification from companies such as Elation, Chauvet, ETC, Robe, Martin, or Vari-Lite.
Experience with IP-rated lighting and ETC architectural control systems.
A/V equipment or rigging system troubleshooting experience.
Experience with warranty repair centers, ticketing systems, or inventory software.
Shipping and receiving experience.
