POSITION OVERVIEW The Director, Market Research & Insights leads the strategy, development, execution, and communication of market research and insight-generation capabilities to enable customer-centered, evidence-based decision making across the commercial organization.
Responsibilities Develop and lead overall market research & insights strategy aligned to commercial priorities and brand objectives.
Oversee primary research (HCPs, caregivers, patients, other stakeholders) and secondary research/insight development.
Define business questions/objectives; ensure appropriate methodology, execution quality, and interpretation; translate findings into recommendations for senior leadership; drive application of insights into commercial strategy.
Manage external market research/insights vendor partnerships (quality, budget, alignment).
Partner with Marketing on customer insights, including HCP and Patient Journeys.
Co-lead Situational Analysis integrating multiple data sources to inform product performance, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
Apply AI-enabled market research tools and generative AI to enhance qualitative/quantitative pharmaceutical research (insight generation, literature review, survey analysis, reporting) while ensuring data quality/compliance.
Evaluate and integrate emerging AI applications (LLMs, machine learning, NLP) to improve research efficiency and business insights.
Partner with Enterprise Analytics, Sales, and Marketing on brand and sales force KPIs.
Establish frameworks to improve insight generation, research effectiveness, reporting clarity, and decision making.
Communicate insights to influence all levels of the organization; lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MS, or related field preferred.
10+ years progressive experience in market research or commercial insights in pharma/biotech/healthcare.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and translate insights into strategic decisions.
Strong knowledge of primary/secondary research, forecasting, competitive intelligence, and performance analytics.
Experience managing external vendors, budgets, and complex cross-functional initiatives.
Proven executive communication (presentations/storytelling).
Compensation Pay Range: $218,000 USD - $262,000 USD
