Director of Communications
Location: Spalding Pastoral Center, Curia - Peoria, IL.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Job Type: Full-Time.
The Catholic Diocese of Peoria is seeking a Director of Communications—a visionary leader with tactical expertise—to lead our Office of Communications. This dynamic position supports parishes in their communications outreach and helps spread the mission of Jesus Christ throughout Central Illinois.
What You Will Do
Help execute a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy
Lead media relations, crisis communications, and digital/social media strategy
Support evangelization efforts across parishes and diocesan ministries
Partner with Bishop Louis Tylka and diocesan leaders to promote Growing Disciples initiatives
Provide communications support across diocesan offices and events
What We’re Looking For
A practicing Catholic with an understanding and love for the Church
Proven experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing
A visionary and doer—comfortable with both strategic planning and hands‑on execution
Excellent communicator and team player with strong leadership instincts
