Internship Description/Learning Objectives:

Assist with Social Media Content, Campaigns and MessagingfortheMetropolitanAction Commission social media platforms.Uphold theMission,Vision and Core ValuesofMetro Actionincluding internal and external customer service, teamwork and treatment of all people with respect, dignity and compassion.

Job Duties:

Undersupervision,thesocialmedia internwill assist the Communications Department in developingSocial MediaContentandCampaigns for the agency Social media Platforms.

Writesocialmedia captionsthatspeak toour target audience

Takephotosandassistwith photo/videocontent

Monitor social media content and engagement daily to ensure we are providing timely and appropriate replies and interaction with our followers

Performsotherrelated dutiesasassigned

Proficient inSocialMedia skillsrequired;willtrain onorganization-levelsocial media,butmusthave a working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

Experienceingraphicdesigntoolssuch asCanva, Adobe etc.

Attentiontodetail andcopywritingskills

Greatwrittenandoralcommunicationskills.

General Information:

Work Schedule Days and Hours:

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm

Not to exceed 20 hours weekly.

The work environment involves the everyday risks or discomforts that require normal precautions typical of such places as offices, meetings, and training rooms, etc.

Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

If you are selected for YEP Internship as a Work Team Member, you will make $18.00 an hour.

The POWER Youth program, previously known as Opportunity NOW, provides career exploration and work experience activities for youth 14 to 24 years old. The name POWER Youth was selected by the peer youth leadership team based on how they view themselves and their future.
