To support advanced aerospace and defense programs, the full-time Technical Writer III - S1000D will develop technical documentation, author structured XML content, and interpret engineering drawings while working remotely on a contract-to-hire basis.
Key responsibilities
Develop technical, operations, and maintenance manuals, test plans, and contractual documentation
Author and maintain structured XML content or S1000D data modules
Manage documentation reviews, revisions, change control, and collaborate with engineers and SMEs to ensure accuracy
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Hands-on structured XML authoring experience
Proficiency with Oxygen XML Editor, Arbortext, XMetaL, or Structured FrameMaker
Advanced technical-writing and publishing knowledge
Experience developing technical, operations, or maintenance manuals
