HISTORY (BL-HIST-IUBLA)
Researches project examining the history of the Russian Empire's borderlands in Siberia and Central Asia, with a focus on botanical exploration, mapping, and the transformation of landscapes.
Draws on the interdisciplinary fields of the history of science and empire, environmental and cultural history, visual studies, and Digital Humanities.
Works as a part-time assistant with a faculty for a digital research project in History that includes:
Edits video and audio recordings in Russian.
Creates English subtitles for video.
Organizes and processes video materials and photographs.
Transcribes and translates interviews in Russian (proficiency in Russian and English languages required, level of native speakers).
Prepares photo, video and audio materials for digital publishing and mapping.

SKILLS
Required
Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Excel are required, and ArcGIS is a plus.
Proficiency in Russian and English languages required, level of native speakers.
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
