Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Fashion Designer, located in Midtown Manhattan. The Associate Fashion Designer will be assisting the Senior Fashion Designer with translating creative visions into practical designs and ensuring that the products align with brand aesthetic, quality standards and customer preferences. This posting is for an opening in the Juniors Separates & Sets Division and the ideal candidate will have 3-5 years design experience in juniors/childrenswear categories.
Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design OR Equivalent Experience
At least 3-5 years of design experience
Technical Skills

Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Previous use of PLM systems (Preferred)
Requirements

Possess a strong sense of color/print with the ability to interpret specific color palettes/prints and patterns
Able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment and adjust shifting priorities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong leadership skills
Able to travel if required to conduct market research and/or client meetings
Job Responsibilities

Participate in research and report on industry trend, & color direction, and fabric innovations that can relate to the company’s target customer while supporting senior designers
Present ideas through sketching, presentation boards, design development and details that reflect brand identity
Utilize Adobe Illustrator for flats, and technical sketches
Recolor prints using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Prepare tech packs and BOMs
Review and comment on lab dips, and strike-offs
Communicate with buyers, and overseas vendors
Tag, document, photograph, and organize sample line pictures
Attend fit session with Tech Design throughout the season
