Position Description:
The MerrimackCollege Athletic Department seeks a qualified candidate to fill therole of Digital Content Producer, Athletic Communications. Thefull-time, benefited position will report to the Assistant AthleticDirector of Strategic Communications and work with the AthleticCommunications team. The position will produce high-quality photography, videography,graphic design and other digital content that enhances theMerrimack Athletics brand and showcases the student-athletes whorepresent the College’s 28 NCAA Division I teams. The position willhelp drive fan engagement, support marketing initiatives, assistwith game-day promotions and fundraising campaigns all whilemaintaining the visual identity and brand standards of MerrimackAthletics. The successful candidate will be experienced with social mediaplatforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc., and must bewilling to work when our teams play – nights, weekends and thepotential for holidays. The candidate will work in accordance withNCAA Division I guidelines and Merrimack College rules, regulationsand policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Capture and produce high-quality photography and videography atathletic contests, practices, community events and other departmentfunctions.

Create compelling digital content, including highlight videos,feature stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, hypevideos, and promotional campaigns.

Design graphics for use across social media, website, emailmarketing, digital signage and other athletic communicationsplatforms.

Collaborate with coaches, athletic communications, marketing,etc. to develop creative content that supports the priorities ofthe department.

Assist in planning and executing content calendars that promoteathletic events, student-athlete accomplishments, ticket sales,fundraising initiatives and special events.

Edit video and photography using industry-standard creativesoftware to produce engaging content optimized for multiple digitalplatforms.

Capture content during home and away competitions, as assigned,including evenings, weekends, and select travel.

Maintain an organized archive of photography, video footage andcreative assets and publish on the athletics website.

Stay current on emerging trends in social media, photography,videography, graphic design and digital storytelling.

Operate and maintain photography, video, lighting and editingequipment.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission ofMerrimack College Athletics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media,graphic design, video production, marketing, or a relatedfield.

One to three years of experience creating digital content incollegiate athletics, professional sports, higher education, or arelated field (graduate assistantships and internshipsconsidered).

Exceptional visual storytelling skills with a creativemindset.

Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, includingPremiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc.

Experience operating professional cameras, video equipment,lighting and audio equipment.

Strong understanding of social media platforms and bestpractices for digital storytelling.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectivelywithin a team.

Excellent organizational, communication and time-managementskills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meetdeadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel asrequired by athletic schedules.

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.

This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminalbackground check.
