Faculty Responsibilities
Providing instruction in accordance with established curricula, course outlines, and class schedules
Creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking
Providing a learning vehicle for diversity and inclusion content
Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and assessing student work
Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
Maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas
Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part‑time adjunct faculty member
Maintaining accurate academic records
Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Educational Credentials
Graduate Student in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related fields.
Undergraduate degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field.
Preferred
Terminal Degree in Finance, Business Accounting or a related field.
Certified Financial Planner or Chartered Financial Analyst certifications.
Understanding of the unique financial challenges faced by artists.
Experience in financial planning, investment management, or accounting, preferably with a focus on individuals with irregular income streams, freelancers, or entrepreneurs.
Demonstrated success teaching at the college level.
Recent experience in a higher education setting.
Candidates with teaching experience and expertise in an additional area are highly desired.
Knowledge and experience in using instructional technology.
Required Professional Expertise
A minimum of 6 months to 1 year teaching in Finance in a post‑secondary setting
Experience in financial planning, investment management, or accounting, preferably with a focus on individuals with irregular income streams, freelancers, or entrepreneurs.
Experience with innovative teaching methodologies that focus on creating an engaging, student‑centered learning environment and depth of knowledge in the applicable field
Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and practices that enhance student success at higher education institutions, including effective use of technology
Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service and providing a dynamic climate for life‑long learning
Successful candidates will be able to apply their discipline expertise in a manner/context that is relevant to emerging performing artists, in an synchronous online environment and through the LMS.
Active scholarship in the related field
Position Information
Salary Range: $45–$60 per hour for classroom teaching
Administrative and voluntary tasks outside of classroom hours paid at a standard hourly rate of $35 per hour
This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.
