We're hiring one person to own our growth and lifecycle marketing end to end — the performance side (paid, conversion, the numbers) and the lifecycle side (the automated journeys that turn a first-time gifter into someone who sends again and again). This is a hands-on doer's role, not a strategist's. You'll report to and work side by side with our head of marketing, and you'll focus entirely on the growth engine while our content, design, and social talent bring the brand to life. When the data tells you something, you act on it. Split between B2C and B2B, this role is deliberately scoped for someone who thrives in high-density work. You will not be managing a team or sitting in strategy meetings, however you need to be highly organized. You will be pulling dashboards, running creative tests, building nurture journeys, and making decisions based on data every day.
Description
ABOUT GESTURE
Gesture is where technology meets humanity, a place where innovation, emotion, and impact collide. We're a fast-growing tech company using AI, machine learning, and intelligent logistics to power a first-of-its-kind platform that connects people and brands through real-world, tangible experiences. From our mobile app to our B2B Reach360 platform, Gesture blends data, emotion, and automation to build the future of human connection, at scale.
WHERE WE ARE HEADED
Gesture is investing aggressively in AI-driven intelligence to power the next generation of marketing and commerce using a gift-centric approach. Our roadmap focuses on building intelligence that anticipates, adapts, and compounds: predicting intent, optimizing campaigns in real time, and delivering deeply personalized experiences driven by real-world behavior, through systems that continuously learn and improve with every interaction. This is not surface-level automation. We're building intelligence directly into the core of how our growth and lifecycle programs are planned, executed, and measured at scale. At Gesture, you're not joining a static marketing team. You're joining a team building the infrastructure for how a first‑time gifter becomes someone who sends again and again.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're hiring one person to own our growth and lifecycle marketing end to end: the performance side (paid, conversion, the numbers) and the lifecycle side (the automated journeys that turn a first-time gifter into someone who sends again and again). This is a hands‑on doer's role, not a strategist's.
Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
CAC, ROAS, and conversion performance across paid and owned channels
CRM and lifecycle journeys that carry someone from their first gift to a lifetime of sending
Customer segmentation and messaging across every CRM channel, from first‑time registrants to highest‑value repeat senders
How we measure campaign performance, customer engagement, and ROI
The scaling of high‑leverage channels like refer‑a‑friend (RAF) and SMS
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
Let’s be clear:
This is not a strategist role that hands off execution to someone else; you build and run the engine yourself.
This is not a people‑management position; there is no team to manage, at least initially
This is not a role built around sitting in strategy meetings; it's built around dashboards, tests, and journeys
This is not an advisory or consulting engagement; you own outcomes, not recommendations
WHAT YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR
I. Performance
Improve CAC, ROAS, and conversion every week across our paid and owned channels
Run a constant test‑and‑learn loop on audiences, creative, and offers
Move budget toward what’s working before the rest goes stale
II. Lifecycle & CRM
Own our CRM channels end to end: the journeys that carry someone from their first gift to a lifetime of sending
Shape and execute customer segments across every CRM channel, from first‑time registrants and leads to our highest‑value repeat senders
Build lifecycle journeys across email, push, and SMS: onboarding, repeat‑gifting nudges, win‑backs, referrals, and loyalty, and rigorously test each one so every message drives results and feels human, without increasing churn
Identify and run high‑value, hypothesis‑driven experiments inspired by what the data is telling you
Keep messaging brand‑aligned and improve time‑to‑conversion, working with the content and design talent on the team to capture new leads at every funnel stage
Be our CRM‑stack expert, and work cross‑functionally with Product, Analytics, and Engineering to solve bigger business challenges with well‑built customer communication streams
Lead the scaling of high‑leverage channels like refer‑a‑friend (RAF) and SMS
III. Data, Analytics & Measurement
Own how we measure campaign performance, customer engagement, and ROI, and turn the key metrics into one clear weekly call on what to do next
Analyze large datasets to surface customer insights and the real drivers of campaign performance
Run A/B testing and attribution analysis to sharpen marketing decisions
Work with our engineering team to get the events, tracking, and data you need from across our platforms (web analytics, CRM, social, and more)
Pull, clean, and shape data from across our marketing tools so it's ready for analysis and reporting
Generate the reports, dashboards, and visualizations that show stakeholders what’s trending in customer behavior and what’s actually working
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In 30 days: You understand our current CRM stack, performance channels, and KPIs, and you’ve identified the biggest gaps in data, measurement, and lifecycle coverage.
In 60 days: A real test‑and‑learn loop is running on paid channels, at least one lifecycle journey is live and being optimized, and a weekly reporting cadence is in place.
In 90 days: CAC, ROAS, and conversion are trending in the right direction, your lifecycle program is driving measurable repeat‑send behavior, and leadership has a clean weekly report they trust.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
3 to 5+ years hands‑on in lifecycle, growth, or performance marketing execution, not advisory, with results you can point to (improved ROAS, CAC, retention, or conversion)
Start‑up experience and a resilient attitude
Deep CRM and lifecycle expertise: you understand CRM strategy, tactics, and tools, and you know how to move the KPIs that matter
Fluency with paid social (Meta, TikTok) and marketing automation
Strong data fluency: comfortable with SQL and with pulling, reading, and shaping your own data, plus analytics / BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
An Excel / Google Sheets power user who can build clean, reliable reporting for stakeholders and senior leadership
Comfortable owning an initiative end to end, from idea to build to launch to analysis, and back again
A doer's bias to action, with bold ideas and the know‑how to get them done: you ship, you don’t just plan
A high degree of intrinsic motivation: you own outcomes without being managed to them
BONUS KNOWLEDGE
Experience with any part of our stack: Amplitude, Segment, Branch, Voucherify, or Zoho
Hands‑on with data pipelines / ETL, APIs, or predictive analytics (a real plus, but our engineering team owns the heavy data lifting)
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
Experience in consumer apps, e‑commerce, or DTC, bonus for repeat‑purchase, marketplace, or gifting models
Early‑stage or startup experience, comfortable building with imperfect data and tightening it as you go
HOW YOU OPERATE
Bias for Action: you ship, you don’t just plan
Data‑Driven with Instinct: you know when to trust the numbers and run the experiment, and when to trust instinct and try a new direction
Ownership: you own an initiative end to end and own outcomes without being managed to them
Sound Judgment: you can tell what moves the needle from what’s just noise
Genuine Curiosity: you wonder why people send gifts, not just how many
WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
You want to sit in strategy meetings rather than build and run the engine yourself
You need a team to manage in order to feel effective
You’re uncomfortable being measured against CAC, ROAS, and conversion numbers every week
You need perfect data before you’ll act
COMPENSATION
Base Salary: $70,000 – $81,000 / yr, plus a performance bonus tied to real growth KPIs
Ground‑floor equity as the company scales
OTHER GESTURE BENEFITS AND PERKS
Health, dental, and vision insurance
A direct line to leadership: you’ll report straight to the head of marketing, with a genuine seat at the table
