Backyard Breaks is looking for high-energy, sports-obsessed On-Air Talent to host live sports card breaks and become part of the personalities that power the Yard. You'll entertain viewers in real time, open some of the biggest products in the hobby, talk sports, showcase cards, build community, and create the kind of live moments people want to come back for.
This is part sports broadcaster, part entertainer, part salesperson, and part community builder. There's no script and no second take. When the camera goes live, the room is yours.
What You'll Do
Host live sports card breaks across Whatnot and other platforms
Entertain and engage viewers throughout the entire show
Showcase cards, products, players, and major pulls with confidence and excitement
Read and interact with live chat while keeping the room moving
Explain products and break formats clearly
Build your own on-air identity while representing Backyard Breaks
Stay current on sports news, players, card products, hobby trends, and market conversations
Collaborate with Co-Pilots and operations to run clean, organized livestreams
Help create memorable moments, conversations, and content worth sharing
Take coaching and feedback and use it to continually improve your performance
You Own the Room
Being the Breaker means more than being the person on camera. You're also responsible for helping the team around you execute at a high level. That includes making sure team sheets are accurate, high-value hits are properly logged and protected, breaks stay organized, and sold products are correctly tracked for fulfillment.
Great shows can feel spontaneous, but the operation behind them needs to be locked in.
You'll Crush This Role If You…
You actually love sports.

You follow the leagues, players, rookies, trades, playoff races, rivalries, and big storylines. When a player comes out of a pack, you have something interesting to say.
You have presence.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, but people should want to watch you. We're not looking for every Breaker to have the same personality. We're looking for people worth watching.
You can carry a live show.

Not every pack contains a monster hit. Great hosts can still keep conversation moving, engage chat, tell stories, build anticipation, and make the room fun.
You know how to sell without making it feel forced.

Live breaking is entertainment, but it's also live commerce. You can create excitement around a product, explain why something matters, and help customers feel confident participating.
You build community.

You notice the regulars, welcome new viewers, respond to chat, and make people feel like they're part of the room.
You're coachable.

We want confident personalities who are also open to feedback on pacing, engagement, hobby knowledge, sales instincts, and overall performance.
What We're Looking For
Strong passion for sports and sports culture
Comfortable and confident on camera
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage an audience in real time
High energy and enthusiasm throughout a live show
Strong multitasking skills
Reliability and professionalism
Ability to take feedback and adjust quickly
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and changing livestream schedules
Sports card experience is highly valuable, but we're also open to people with strong presence, sales instincts, live entertainment ability, and the willingness to learn the hobby quickly.
Even Better If You…
Collect, buy, sell, or break sports cards
Understand sets, parallels, rookies, inserts, case hits, grading, and hobby terminology
Have experience on Whatnot, Twitch, YouTube, TikTok Live, or similar platforms
Have worked in sales, broadcasting, entertainment, live commerce, or content creation
Have an established social media presence or personal audience
Are naturally plugged into sports culture and internet trends
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation:

On-Target Earnings ranging from

$45,000 to $100,000+
