The Bread Bakers Guild of America is an independent and creative group of current and aspiring bakery owners, professional bakers, cottage operators, ingredient and equipment suppliers, educators, students, serious home bakers, and more. We are dedicated to producing great baked goods and committed to the health of our businesses, workers, and communities.

Position Overview
The Guild isseekingaSocial Media Contractorto support day-to-day content creation, publishing, and community engagement. This role is primarily execution-focused, with room for input on content ideas and storytelling.

This is a good fit for someone with early professional experience who is ready to take ownership of social media workflows, contribute ideas, and help grow an engaged community around the Guild’smission,programsand members.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Write clear, engaging captions that reflect the Guild’s voice

Edit and format photos and short-form video (Reels, Stories) using accessible tools

Manage comments and messages, engaging thoughtfully with members and followers

Support promotion of events, classes, and member opportunities

Maintain a consistent posting cadence and help manage a content calendar

Track performance metrics and share regular insights with staff

Contribute content ideas andidentifyopportunities to highlight member stories

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience managing social media for a brand, organization, or small business (or equivalent)

Strong writing skills and attention to detail

Basic photo/video editing skills and visual sensibility

Interest in baking, food, or small business communities

Organized, reliable, and able to manage deadlines independently

Comfortable working collaboratively and taking direction, while also contributing ideas

Approximately 15 hours per week

Ongoing collaboration with Guild staff on priorities and content

Flexible schedule, with some responsiveness needed fortimelyposting and engagement

Compensation
Hourly rate,commensuratewith experience
