Director of Business Development & Internet Sales
Lee Nissan is seeking a driven, customer-focused Director of Business Development & Internet Sales to lead our Business Development Center (BDC) and Internet Sales operations. This position is responsible for driving sales opportunities, improving customer engagement, developing high-performing teams, and maximizing appointments and vehicle sales through phone, internet, and digital channels.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, coach, and motivate the BDC and Internet Sales teams.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase internet leads, phone opportunities, appointments, show rates, and sales.
- Monitor and improve response times, follow-up processes, lead handling, and customer communication.
- Oversee all incoming internet, phone, chat, and digital sales leads.
- Establish performance goals, key performance indicators, and accountability standards.
- Track team performance using CRM reports and dealership performance metrics.
- Work closely with the General Sales Manager, Sales Managers, and Marketing team to align sales and advertising strategies.
- Ensure consistent and professional communication with all customers.
- Assist in creating sales campaigns, email templates, text-message strategies, and follow-up programs.
- Review lost opportunities and develop strategies to improve conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure all leads are followed up with promptly and effectively.
- Help recruit, onboard, and develop BDC and Internet Sales team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer privacy requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Promote an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in automotive sales, BDC, Internet Sales, call-center management, or a related leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales or customer-development team.
- Strong understanding of dealership CRM systems, internet leads, phone processes, and digital retailing.
- Demonstrated success improving appointment volume, show rates, closing ratios, and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication platforms.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Nissan or automotive dealership operations.
- Experience managing a BDC or Internet Sales department.
- Knowledge of dealership sales processes, lead providers, digital advertising, and automotive CRM reporting.
- Ability to analyze data and use performance metrics to drive results.

Schedule
This is a full-time dealership leadership position. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
