Identify, evaluate, negotiate, validate, and execute strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
Coordinate and execute financial valuations, due diligence reviews, and risk assessments
Negotiate multiple large, complex transactions simultaneously
Develop methodologies for assessing and prioritizing corporate development opportunities
Identify new investment opportunities and develop strategies and business cases
Lead Operating Company strategies, pipeline development, and portfolio execution
Review and assess business expansion opportunities against screening criteria
Support business units in developing corporate development initiatives
Prepare transaction materials for senior leadership and Board review and approval
Coordinate efforts to obtain regulatory approvals
Lead and manage Corporate Development team activities
Evaluate the company’s business portfolio and recommend approaches to close capability, market, scope, and investment gaps
Coordinate project management of approved corporate development opportunities
Coach and develop Corporate Development staff
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical or financial field required
MBA preferred
Ten years’ experience in acquisitions and divestitures, or equivalent corporate development experience
Demonstrated skilled negotiator
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated financial analysis and modeling capability
Deep knowledge of transaction-related tax, accounting, legal, and human resource issues
Capable of integrating technical and business judgment
Ability to work well within a team, and to successfully lead and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
Experience in, or extensive knowledge of, an energy related field
Must be available to work additional hours
Overnight travel as needed
Will consider equivalent combination of knowledge/capabilities from experience and education
